TK Audio Transceiver 2 Four-Channel Universal Insert Station

TK Audio Transceiver 2 Four-Channel Universal Insert Station

TK Audio Transceiver 2 Overview

Ensure a perfect match between all your audio gear with the Transceiver 2 Universal Insert Station from TK Audio, a four-channel processor designed to convert balanced signals to unbalanced and back again without loss of signal quality as well as versatile impedance matching, level matching, DI functions, and reamping. Each channel sports blend control for adjusting the amount of insert FX level, a polarity switch, a send level control, and a return level control with up to +20 dB of clean make up gain, with each knob being stepped for easy recall.

You can use the high-impedance inputs for turning your Transceiver 2 into a four-channel DI box, capable of driving a 600-ohm transformer-balanced preamp input, or as a convenient reamping tool with a Y-splitter cable. You can also use it to balance levels and impedance on stage when incorporating a wide range of modern and vintage gear.

Clean Sound for All Your Gear
The Transceiver 2 is a transformerless, balanced design for the best possible signal handling. The unit possesses a flat frequency response, low harmonic distortion, and low noise. You will maintain perfect signal integrity when converting from balanced to unbalanced and back, and both the balanced output and unbalanced send have a high driving capability to properly drive input transformers.
Reamping
One of the most interesting uses of the Transceiver 2 is for reamping. Simply hook up your guitar and amp with a Y splitter connected to the Transceiver 2 return. Adjust the amp for your wanted sound and use the Transceiver 2 gain control to adjust the level of the direct guitar signal.

The guitar signal can also be fed through your DAW and then back to the amp. Lower the send level control and move the cable that feeds the amp to the send output instead, then adjust the send control, so you get the same amp level as you got when the amp was connected to the Y splitter. By connecting the amp this way, you can recreate the sound from this setup with 100% accuracy by feeding the recorded direct signal to the amp again (as long as the amp is the same and controls are adjusted the same).

Connections
The Transceiver 2 utilizes 3-pin XLR connectors for the balanced connections in the rear. It uses 1/4" TRS connections in the front for the unbalanced Send and Return jacks.
